Designed for long range shore fishing with 4 to 6oz leads and bait, this fast taper blank action features a supple tip for bite detection, but with a rapid transfer of power in the mid section down in to the ultra stiff butt to produce massive casting potential. It is manufactured from top quality 30 ton carbon cloth material to create a low diameter, very light weight blank that is light and comfortable to cast, yet with extreme sensitivity in the hands.

It comes with an 18" extension tube allowing the reel to be fished low on butt, but also is supplied with an additional butt cap so the reel can be fished conventionally positioned high up the butt.

The hi-gloss black finish minimises salt and dirt adhesion, and the black shrink tube covered butt provides excellent grip in cold and wet weather conditions.

Though retaining outstanding bite detection, the power flow through the blank is rapid contributing to massive power availability in the lower mid section and ultra stiff butt. Built to get the best from braid lines between 20 and 40lbs, this short butt, long tip blank design features a semi fast taper action, but with a soft tip to compliment the non-stretch nature of modern braid lines.

The flow of power through the tip is at first gradual, but then rapidly increases in the mid section in to a stiff butt to produce the power to really work big fish at depth.

Being ultra light in weight with a slim overall diameter, the rod can be held for long periods without tiring and is ultra sensitive to bites, again complimenting the natural asset of non-stretch braid. It is ideal for all drift and static ledger fishing situations, and especially when fishing in very deep water where the bite detection qualities of the MTI blank design is an advantage.

Rated a 15lb class rod and with a carefully chosen length of 8'8" to maximise performance, the MTI 15lb Class Offshore is a sporting blank for the sporting angler. It is ideal for targeting bass, rays, tope and other hard fighting fishing over sandbanks and cleaner ground, but is also the perfect choice when using artificial sandeel and shads over wrecks and reefs for pollack, coalfish and cod.
